Hello, hello, HELLO! Happy 2011 to everyone!
A lot has happened over the past few months. After making it through my busiest holiday season ever (THANK YOU to all of my wonderful and dedicated clients!) I am now getting a bit caught up and spending some time with my family while I can. Oh, and getting more than 2 hours of sleep too 
My January started out with a bang… a bang from my daughter falling and breaking her poor little leg!
It was a tough few weeks, learning how to crawl again, then learning how to walk again. But she survived, WE survived!
There are some huge (and I mean GIGANTIC!) things that are changing and improving here at Krista Roder Photography. The one and only thing that I can tell you about right now is that I am getting a new blog. One that is my very own and not a freebie from WordPress (thank you WordPress for providing this service for free!). I was hoping to get it up and running by January, but I missed that mark. It will be up soon! And I can’t wait!

on october 8th, i had the wonderful opportunity of meeting sarah and mike, a couple whos love beams off of each other. they are amazing and adore each other like you wouldn’t believe.
here is their story:
Mike and Sarah first met when he was working at East Side Club in Monona and she was working for Gaylord Catering, where it took them a long 6 months before they even started talking. She says that there were so comfortable with each other from the beginning and it seemed like they knew each other forever. This December is their 3 year anniversary.
He asked her to marry him on July 1st, 2010. He made a slideshow video for with pictures of them over the years to music. Then at the end of the video his voice came over the speakers and said that he had a question to ask me. He had the ring hidden in the petals of a rose. The original ring that he gave me was the same one that his dad gave his mom. Mike lost his father when he was 14 years old, so this ring means a lot to everyone.

finally! a beautiful fall day! i had a fun time running around the park, chasing this active little mister with the cutest (maybe even a little mischievous at times) smile… meet kaleb!

the golden rule for shooting newborns is within the very first 10 days. after those 10 days (even 3!) the tiny little babe doesn’t like to be scrunched up, touched, or disturbed while sleeping. but like all rules, they are meant to be broken. meet carson, at 18 days new. he was perfect! i was amazed at how well he slept and allowed me to move him all around. producing great photos like these:

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! we had another freezing and windy day in october and this family braved the cold with their goosebumps and red faces to the fullest! way to tough it out guys!!

i have been seeing this family every few months for the past year now and i always look forward to their sessions! caleb is now a year and his big sis is now in preschool. their individual personalities really show through here in these photos…

oh what a fun shoot this was! i was happy to try shooting at these new location, the union terrace and state street. it was beautiful and we had lots of places to let little aaron run freely at…. and boy, does he like to runnnnnnn!

both hank and annabelle will graduate high school in 2011. they are both hilarious and were goofy during our shoot. the big difference: annabelle was born and raised in switzerland! she is a foreign exchange student here for the year. one thing her and i have in common – photography.
