These two sisters are only a few months apart and are the best of friends. Lots of bear hugs, silly giggles and top secrets were shared during this session!

The other weekend I got to photograph two families at once.  Her sister was in town and decided that this would be a great opportunity to get a nice shot of group, including the newest little one, born a few short weeks ago. And I’m sure you’re thinking wow, that’s a lot of kids in the house at once… but they were so well behaved and listened to every word that I said. They were all phenomenal!

And this cute little bugger held his head up the entire time. Yes, he is only a couple of weeks old!!! Amazing!

This was a fun shoot. We went to a  favorite park of the family’s and let the kids run, run, run!

And I caught this girl in action doing what she loves to do! While I was busy photographing her sister, Miss A was busy reading some books, her favorite thing to do.

As some of you know, I launched my photography business in May of 2008. Before then, I always looked at what I did as a hobby… or an obsession

I owe a lot to my bestest friend, lindsey, for getting me started. She always admired the photos that I would take of my son and wanted me to take some of her and her daughter.  Little did I know how much that would help me. With just a white piece of fleece as a background, natural light and the fairly inexpensive camera that I had, I snapped away. Those photos were soon sent to her friends and family, who then asked me if I would be willing to take photos of their children!

So Lindsey, I owe so much to you. I thank you for pushing me so hard to get a website and start taking strangers as clients. I thank you for believing in me and for opening my eyes. I thank you for always being willing to be my model when I have  a crazy idea. I don’t think I would be as successful and confident right now if it weren’t for all those times you pushed me. 

With the help of my husband and my best friend believing in me and seeing how much passion I truly have for this, my dream is now a reality. I love and thank both of you!!

I found this field full of wild flowers and new that adding quinn and lindsey to the mix would make some pretty breath-taking photos.

What a sweet and super fun family of 7 this is. Yes, you heard me correctly, 7! Despite the brutal wind and the few sprinkles that fell, we had a fantastic and very fun time at the shoot. My favorite quote of the day…

“mommy, I love you so much I want to marry you” – said by their little 4 year old cutie.
